राम गोपाल वर्मा हमेशा से ही अलग तरह की फ़िल्में बनाए जाने के लिए जाने जाते हैं.
अब राम गोपाल वर्मा ने अब तक की अपनी सबसे महत्वाकांक्षी और सबसे महंगी फिल्म ‘लड़की – एंटर द गर्ल ड्रैगन’ के ज़रिए सिनेमा के क्षेत्र में एक नई ऊंचाई हासिल करने की कोशिश की है. ग़ौरतलब है कि इस फिल्म का निर्माण भारत और चीन द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से किया गया है.
उल्लेखनीय है कि हाल ही में भारत और चीन के बीच गलवान घाटी में हुए संघर्ष के बाद ‘लड़की – एंटर द गर्ल ड्रैगन’ ऐसी पहली भारतीय फ़िल्म है, जो चीन में प्रदर्शित की जाएगी. चीन में इस फिल्म को प्रदर्शित किया जाना इस बात का सबूत है कि मार्शल आर्ट्स और सिनेमा ने चीन और भारत को सिनेमा के पटल पर फिर से साथ ला खड़ा कर दिया है.
इस फिल्म के माध्यम से राम गोपाल वर्मा ऐसे पहले फिल्ममेकर बन गये हैं जिन्होंने चीन की ऊंची दीवार को लांघते हुए इस फिल्म को भारत के साथ-साथ चीन में प्रदर्शित करने का ज़िम्मा उठाया है. फ़िल्म की रिलीज़ से पहले राम गोपाल वर्मा ने फ़िल्म के हिंदी और चीनी ट्रेलर को अपने आधिकारिक यूट्यूब पर अपलोड किया है. उल्लेखनीय है कि फिल्म के ट्रेलर को दर्शकों के साथ-साथ दोनों इंडस्ट्री से जुड़े लोगों की भी ख़ूब वाहवाही मिल रही है.
राम गोपाल वर्मा कहते हैं, “मैंने सरकार के ज़रिए ‘द गॉड फ़ादर’ को ट्रिब्यूट दिया था. उसी तरह से मैंने पूजा भालेकर को लेकर बनाई गई फ़िल्म ‘लड़की – एंटर द ड्रैगन गर्ल’ के माध्यम से ब्रूस ली को लेकर बनाई गई विश्व की सबसे महान मार्शल आर्ट्स फ़िल्म ‘एंटर द ड्रैगन’ को विनम्र आदरांजलि देने की कोशिश है.”
ग़ौरतलब है कि पिछले साल गलवान घाटी में भारत और चीन के बीच हुई हिंसक झड़प के बाद ‘एक लड़की : एंटर द गर्ल ड्रैगन’ चीन में रिलीज की जानेवाली पहली भारतीय फ़िल्म होने का गौरव हासिल करेगी.
इस फ़िल्म को आर्ट्सी मीडिया और चीन के नामी फ़िल्म प्रोडक्शन हाउस बिग पीपल ने मिलकर प्रोड्यूस किया है. भारत और चीन के सहयोग से बनी इस फ़िल्म को मुम्बई, गोवा के कई लोकेशन समेत चीन में भी शूट किया गया है.

फिल्म में 4 बेहतरीन गाने हैं जिसके कम्पोज़र हैं सिद्धार्थ बोस और रितेश कुमार नलिनी जबकि इसके गीतकार हैं अनन्या बोस, राकेश सिंह और बी आर बी। फिल्म के गीतों के बोल है “अधूरी कहानी मेरी यह जिंदगानी, बन जा तू मेरा हीरो राउडी, इश्क मजा लेले और “तुझ पे यकीन मै कैसे करूं”।

हाल ही में फ़िल्म “गनवाली दुल्हनियां” की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस, अँधेरी के दी व्यू में सम्पन्न हुई। इस अवसर पर फ़िल्म से जुड़े सभी कलाकारों और मेकर से प्रेस वार्ता हुई। निर्देशक शान्तनु तांबे ने बताया कि, सेंसर बोर्ड फिल्मों में दो नज़रिया अपनाती है, बड़े सितारों की अलग, एवं नए की अलग।

Choreographer turned director Nikky Batra’s first film ‘Khan Gali’ on Kinnars’s in Bilasa Film Festival
Nikky Batra, dance director and choreographer in 45 Bhojpuri movies and hindi movies like Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Raja Hindustani, Humraaz etc, has directed a movie on eunuchs (kinnar). The movie Khan Gali made under the banner of Sunayana Films Pvt Ltd also shows him playing the role of a Kinnar.
Only seventy percent of the movie is complete, but still it will be shown in Bilasa Film Festival which is scheduled to begin from 24th February 2015 in Bilaspur (Raipur). It will be shown on all the three days, ie.24- 25-26 February 2015.
Director Nikky Batra says, “People of the festival liked the movie and the story. On their request, we made a 40 minute version of the movie. It shows the birth and death of Kinnars, the way they earn money and the sufferings in their life. Should they be getting any rights? It shows the entire gamut of their lives.”
The cast includes Nikky Batra, Rameshwari, Sultan Khan, Amrin Khan, Ajay Bhaskar, Kamal Seth, Kunal Sonawane etc. The cameraman is Indrajit Singh and Anand Raj Anand is the Music- Director. When actors struggle for a good role in movies, some lucky people like Kunal Sharma get good roles even without an acting experience in films. Kunal Sharma was the assistant director in movie ‘Rahasya’. Since the Director Manish Gupta did not get a suitable actor for a certain role, he asked Kunal to give his audition. Q: Super Nani releases this Friday. A big release for you in a long while…
A: I have knots in my stomach! I am returning to work after long with this film. It was shot over a period of one-and-a-half year, coinciding with the time I was busy with my mother’s illness. She passed away while it wrapped up. She was excited about it. So it’s a very special film for me.
Q: Does individual performance get affected whilst acting before veterans like Rekha and Randhir Kapoor?
A: Yes, it does. You always have to be conscious about their seniority and space. At the same time you must find your own too. Sometimes, their experience and grace betters everyone’s performance. At other times, you have to make do with less. The director plays an important role in balancing things.
Q: How is your character in Super Nani special compared to others?
A: I played an escort-cum-police informer ‘Julie’ in YRF series Powder. I was ‘traumatized sexy’. I played mistress ‘Mahua’ in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster. ‘I was sweet sexy’. I did a cameo in Rockstar of a bhabhi who sticks too much to her brother-in-law. I was ‘hilarious sexy’. When I was not sexy, I was not OK in my mind. Samrat & Co. is the case in point. Thus far I have always played glamourous characters. But in Super Nani, I am fat, ugly, mad, bitchy, irritating and essentially, extremely funny! It’s my first full blown comedy role.
Q: You did a cameo in Rockstar despite it being a small role?
A: People still remember me from that small role. It’s mind-boggling. It also shows the power of acting and of an interesting character. At times it surprises me but I too have felt the impact of some awesome but small characters in world cinema as an audience.
Q: What are your aspirations as an actor and in general?
A: I am itching to act in roles that challenge me and are different from the last role I did. There has to be variety, else life can get boring. In general, I just want a loving family life, and means to fulfill my dreams. I also always need an aim… I am driven by purpose. It adds meaning to my life.
Q: Ever thought of running an institution or joining politics, since you have a political-academic background?
A: Yes of course, I excel at managing things. And at handling pressure! I hold my own in worst crisis situations, too. Earlier, I did not know I had these qualities. I discovered it all when my mother was suffering from cancer and we had to face life and death challenges on a daily basis. I have always been a spiritual person, but a friend of mine introduced me to prayers and I have found a world of solace and power in that. Overall, I think, I am prepared for worldly duties as I now have the whole ‘Armour’ of God!
Q: Can you elaborate on the Armour of God?
A: It’s simple; when a soldier goes to war, he has to have his shield, his helmet, his shoes, his sword or gun and whatever else there is to make him ready to do battle. Without his armour, he is a sitting duck. Likewise, we are daily facing spiritual warfare and without putting on the ‘Whole Armour of God’, it gets difficult. Both daily and larger challenges of life need spiritual strength.
Q: Bollywood is full of new faces, any advice for these youngsters?
A: Be Miss Indias if you are not from the industry. Do not waste time on auditions. Get a star or powerful boyfriend or a ‘good friend’, else you will waste a lot of time. Also, if you do not have talent in acting, don’t fret. Good looks, connections and short clothes is all anyone is looking for here.
Q: Who or rather what inspires you?
A: The fight for justice inspires me. And having grace even in the face of persecution too. Simplicity and kindness is the biggest inspiration. Thus common people, who may be deprived themselves but find time to extend kindness to me, inspire me most. My friends and family inspire me. Ultimately, anything or anyone that adds meaning to my life and fulfills my quest for knowledge and spiritual awakening is a part of my journey.
Faissal Khan is back after 9-years in a romantic film “Chinar-Daastaan-E-Ishq” based on an Urdu novel
Faissal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan who was last seen in Hindi film Chand Bujh Gaya is back after 9-years. He plays the lead in a romantic film Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq which is directed by Sharique Minhaj, who directed the actor in his last film based on Gujarat’s Godhra incident in 2005. Faissal Khan says,“I have worked with Sharique Minhaj earlier in Chand Bujh Gayaand we share a favorable equation. You can call it a re-conciliation of all sorts with me coming back after a gap of 9-years’ with the same directors’ film. Here I play a poor boy, who is in love with a girl next door. For some reason we part away and that forms the whole crux of the story.”
Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq is based on a super-hit Urdu novelist Khwaja Farooq Ranzu Shah’s “Jheel Jalti Hai”, who incidentally hails from Kashmir.
The film is produced by the enterprising Rajesh R. Jain under the banner of Shagun Films Pvt. Ltd. The young 31-year-old Rajesh hails from a rich business family in Surat which is richly known for its diamond trade. Speaking on his debut venture, Rajesh Jain says, “I have always loved cinema. This is one form of medium of entertainment which has a global audience.I was always fascinated by the Kashmir region and its magnificence. The princely state has now become a disputed territory. When this subject of the renowned novelist came across, I knew that I am joining the bandwagon in the entertainment industry. The subject is good and is based on the backdrop of Kashmir. There is no terrorism as such. ”
Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq soon comes close on the heels of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider featuring Shahid Kapoor. This film is a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set amidst the insurgency-hit Kashmir conflicts of 1995 and civilian disappearances. Defending his stance, Sharique Minhaj whose last film based on Gujarat mafia – Lateef – The King of Crime, Sharique Minhaj adds, “The film is based on Kashmir. But it has not shown any kind of terrorism. It is a romantic film and is shown in thisculture of Kashmir. Faissal Khan’s Kashmiri Look sounds, which took them.”
Salim Sen has provided the musical score for the film. The film co-stars Inayaat Sharma,Dilip Tahil, Pramod Moutho, Shahbaaz Khan amongst others.
